The first Blue Marlin off SC caught this year. Onboard the newest addition to our fleet. Caught by Jeremy Parson. Capt. Charlie Marrow at the helm. The 30' Boston Whaler Express (Plumber's Wet Dream) proved that outboards can catch Marlin. It is owned by Timothy Redd. This is the second one in a year.
Estimated between 600-650 pounds. Was caught 8 miles off of Charleston Bump in 1300 feet of water. The lure was a Black Bart Big Rock Plunger Rainbow color. Caught on a Penn International 50. Fought it for two and a half hours stand up, and it apparently got hit by a shark close to the dorsal fin. They leadered the fish, and on it's last dive, the swivel separated.
The guys just went out trying to catch Yellow Fin Tuna.
Good job guys.

We're having problems with computer sending the pictures. We should have them tomorrow. Yes, it is the one on the radio. The fish was released. Six guys couldn't get it in the boat through the door. When we post the pictures, we'll have the full story.

Not unless its a tournament. No reason to kill a fish on a fun day. I've heard reports of a crew tagging and releasing a fish they thought was dead and the fish was caught again! |

Miss Magnolia, we agree with Oceanlegare. We don't kill fish for no reason. If you're really hungry and its legal, you can keep it.

I'd like to see a pic of that boat...30' whaler with a tower on it and outboards...I bet she's purdy.
Congrats on the fish too guys.

Sittin' on top of the T-TOP He must not be built like me or that's one stout T-TOP. Yeah...either way the 30' Whaler is a SICK ride for sure.

Very nice fish, those fellas had a lot more fun than the rest of us,know that.
Those of you who were referring to the boat as a "sick" one, just what type of ride do you have that will get you out there? The hard tops on those boats are capable of holding two adults. They are not your regular T-top. |
