Crabbing in Garden City

Will be in Garden City for the 1st time with the family next week. I usually take the kids to a creek or small dock for crabbing. Would it be worth it to bring the crabbing stuff? Wasn’t sure if it was too early in the year or if I could find a decent spot at a place I’ve never been to. Thanks for any help.

Search for “pine avenue” mailing address is Murrells inlet but it’s on the creek between the main bridge into garden city and the northern access, cypress. There’s a small horry county park with long dock and covered end. Good spot to take kids. Playground at the park too. Water is plenty at high tide only.

Veterans pier at crazy sister marina in Murrells inlet.

The bridge over the marsh, Atlantic ave, as previously mentioned.

All free.

You can use the causeway to crab on Atlantic also(very close to park mentioned above). It has steps that allow for access to the sandbar at low tide. If you go to the park do not try to walk in the pluff mud at the end.

We are in Garden City this week and crabbing has been great. We are having our second boil tomorrow! Lots of small ones but a lot of big keepers to. Had one tonight over 7 inches.

Thank you all for the ■■■■■■■■. The kids will be excited to hear that we are going to do a little crabbing.

My preferred baits would be chicken backs. Any stores nearby where I could find them?

Thanks again.

You can find chicken necks or Turkey necks at any local grocery store

I was looking for backs. Hard to find sometimes. Thanks.

Chicken backs have been hard to come by. Kroger said they been getting them in but sale out quick. Walmart has frozen necks in sporting goods dept

Picked up chicken backs at Food Lion. Took the kids to the pier at the park a couple of times. Caught a lot of small ones and the kids enjoyed it. Only managed a few keepers each time. Did pull up an eel one time which the kids thought was pretty cool.
