Reds on winter pattern

Found them like 2 weeks ago and went back for them today. They were in the same pool on the same bend and wouldnt touch artificial and instantly ate cut mullet. WINTER PATTERN. I staged in the same spot and threw one down the creek and one up the creek. Hook up and about half way through the fight the rod in my rod holder goes off. I land a double with a pair of 25 inch twins. Rinse and repeat. This time they hit at the same time and pull opposite directions. My kayak pulls off the bank and spins straight with the creek and 1 is pulling straight out the back and im pulling on the one straight out the front. Im in the middle of a red fish tug of war!!! Im sitting still at first and then the rear rod starts pulling hard and running off line. I think this is the big one and tighten up the drag so he doesnt make it to the dock own the creek. Then the one in my hand goes full baby bull and drags me the kayak and the other red that is pulling hard the other way up the creek. Both reds were around 27 to 28 but the strong one had some shoulders and was probably close to 3lbs heavier then the other 1. Fished the low tide and had to get out the kayak and walk it or scoot across the bottom to get by more then a few times. I caught like 20 or so in about 2hrs and caught fish in 3 pools and bends though i could of fished the first one the whole time. I was just looking to see if i could find the mother load. Littlest was around 16 biggest was probably 28 to 30. They all bit really soft. I would pitch a piece of mullet in and my line would lay on the water. Id pull my line to move my bait and a red was on. Literally sit there and suck it in and chill. I put a little green float in front of my circle hook on the rod that was in the rod holder to help prevent gut hooking and the reds didnt mine. They chewed it up. Switched to a bigger orange float and it didn’t get touched. So they weren’t eating anything with mullet on it just most stuff.
