Back At It

Been on a hiatus for a bit this year doing a lot of work on our new to us home while adding some square footage for a sweet ass billiard room. Took a break from pool room renovations so we could get out Sat morning for the first time in almost 2 months. Wind was just enough to keep the gnats off and the temp was just about perfect. Water was clear and 65-68. I caught a few and she missed a few good bites. I caught my first Slam of the year so that was fun. Couple of the spottail were nice size and fight super strong in the now warming water, even got one with multiple spots on each side. The trout was decent and the flounder was a little guy. But it still counts. Proud to see yall keeping the forum going. I’ve definitely been lurking and trying to keep up but I have had just so much going on and the site was getting terrible about not letting me post or even reply. This is my first time trying since this whole new facelift to the site so I hope this post works.

Nice report but to many people are posting pics of these jailbait flounders on socials. Im soon to go diligently damage the dwindling flounder population before the diplomats can convince me too that its a sin to target flat fins.

Do what you do 40! :sunglasses:

Meant to comment the other day but forgot. I’m easily sidetracked. Look like a nice day on the water.
I bought a house back in the '90s with a billiard room. Remodeled it . Saved my money and bought a nice regulation marble top table. Little did I know it would end up costing me $15,000 for the pool table. One of the delivery boys fell out of the back of the truck breaking his arm. The company I bought the table from was in chapter 11. No workman’s comp. Soo The sob sued me.
The judgment was for $20,000.
About a month later he walked out in front of a car drunk in Little River. And was killed. He never filed the leen so I didn’t end up paying off the rest of it

You shoot a pretty good stick???

I am fragile. Not like a flower. But like a bomb.

22 life’s a day

That’s a pretty unfortunate story with a slightly more fortunate ending…

And I’m not the best you’ll ever see run a rack but you can’t take me lightly or you’ll be stuck racking em up for me. These days, I really enjoy playing One Pocket which is more of a chess type game on the table with a good mix of offense and defense and ‘controlled aggression’ as the older folks say. I have a 9ft table being delivered at the end of the month and I can barely contain myself. I can hardly wait as I have been working on the room since January, just painted final coat on trim and baseboards Saturday.:open_mouth:
Still have to nail hole fill, caulk and paint the exterior as well, I’m just letting the treated wood dry and settle before I do. So glad I did it when I did. I watched lumber prices grow pretty much daily… I think it would cost 30-35% more to do what I’ve done over the last few months, today. :+1:

OTC, that’s a ridiculous outcome. i take it you settled to avoid the costlier litigation? or your lawyer was dum.

also i wish you people would stay on topic

Nice seeing that you took that break and tighten the lines. Hit the Cooper Saturday for some whitings and the bite was hot and some nice size caught. Giving the Reds a break for now and put something on the table. One question; Why do our fellow fishermen take ones mud minnow trap? Great report

Thanks man!

On the trap question, I hope it was a critter that drug it away looking for an easy meal or something to that effect. If it was a person that stole em, I hope they didn’t catch a damm thing with your minnows! :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve had otters and coons drag my trap up into the marsh.Sometimes I would have to get my boots on and go out and find them. I started staking my trap out in the middle of the creek and a gator chomped it up.Don’t know how many I’ve built or bought over the years.

Stump I haven’t posted in awhile but glad to see your still doing you. The whiting has been awesome the past month and I have been chasing them in the harbour. Now that I se flounders are picking up this maybe my last weekend of whiting fishing. The shark bite too is picking up with still cool waters. Love seeing your reports
