My 1st Cobia on Broad River Pier

I’ve been fishing for Cobia alot lately. After a couple failed attempts to get another from the kayak, I decided to try it from the Pier. We had several in one day and even started getting them on Live TOADFISH lol
Check out the action packed video: https://youtu.be/2hwqz_fF9Cw

Awesome catch! My granddad used to fish for cobia in the Broad River. Glad to see they are still there.

That’s a lot of action! Great vid.

Awesome day of catching! Looks like the closures are paying off, and hopefully soon they can loosen it up just a bit. Cobia are an almost perfect gamefish, as they reach something like 40" in three years, a lot like dolphin. Looks like the year-class that is there is around 33" +/- so next year should be really good!

Also, this might be the only time that people actually want to catch a toadfish

Still a no for me:smiley:

Juke, you’re doing good things man. Keep it up and I might have to attempt to catch one of those guys at some point, they fight hard and I like that!

…well, some fishing too!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I’ll never look at a Toadfish the same way again. I already can’t wait for them to come back next year!
