Fished Deep 5/19/11

Left Little River @ 0615 – headed out to The Steeple.

Seas were pretty sloshy; it was like a washing machine, and didn’t know what it wanted to do. Lines in at about 0900. Made ~32 knots out.

Triple knockdown at about 1045. I believe the full moon left full bellies, as fish were able to feed most of the night. Water temp was about 78.5. The knockdown brought up a ~15lb dolphin. A larger one was lost, as it got off. The 3rd…well, we didn’t know about it until we got the other fish in the boat and lost the 2nd. When we got the pole out, it got off, too.

Next action was a little later where we got two blackfin tuna. About 10 & 15 lbs.

Last fish was a tiny dolphin.

So, 2 'phins and 2 tuna.

3 hours back in in SLOP! Took about 3 hours to run the ~76 miles back in. Were were in an '07 Sea Hunt w/ twin Yamaha 4-strokes w/ awesome electronics. (**() shame we didn’t find any amount of fish…
