5/20/11 GTH on the PainKiller

Left MI at 10:30 am, flat seas, fast run just N of GTH. First mahi in the boat in about three minutes - gaffer. Lost the next three short strikes - one for four. Then the action turned on. Two nice blackfins, another dozen mahi in the boat, and one twenty minute losing battle with the man in the white suit. He put on a great show - photo ops and all.

The ride home was a bit slower, home by sunset. Tuna was delicious!

Sounds like an awesome day! Good going!!

As I am looking through the photos of the day, one of the tuna is a 30 inch YELLOWFIN! Wow! Never caught one before on the PainKiller!

How about that!
Pretty cool!!

Good to read & see your results.
Bravo on the YF!

Jason,

What was the water temp at the hole? We’re going out tomorrow trying to decide which way to head. Nice work on the yellowfin.

Thanks for the kind words.

The temp was hovering around 73 degrees.

We never found a temp break, nor a weedline. We were never deeper than 350 feet, just N of the hole.

Good luck tomorrow.

30"???

oh yeah, curved length.

nice work on the day.

love to see YFT,good job!
