Want some Boudin

Posted this in cooking section as well.

Really want to get some. Thinking of ordering online from La.

Along with some live crawfish.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Let us know what time dinner is.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

I will ask a friend about getting some decent crawfish shipped but probably a bit early for them right now.

Born in LA and lived there over 30 years. The Acadiana area is far and above the best boudin area, Lafayette is the center but most of the best boudin is found in very small town meat markets around the area.

There was a time that Boudin King in Jennings was truly the King but they got way too busy when the tour busses learned about it and I don’t need to tell what happened after that.

Almost all of the better places are Mom & Pop operations and don’t have websites and/or not set up for shipping. I will tell you now that shipping will likely be costly unless you order from a mass producer.

Here are two suggestions that I am confident of the quality, authenticity and produced in sanitary conditions. If you are not an experienced boudin eater I don’t recommend true “blood boudin”.

Here is a site for more information, I am familiar with Richards Meaat Market and was very good but have not been there in years. NuNu is another popular old place but have not had their boudin.

Good luck and let me know if I can help you,

when I was station in Biloxi we had a Cajun dude that would bring us some. One batch he had was more like our liver pudding and I didn’t care for it. Then he had some smoked one that was fantastic with a real thick casing and he also brought some made with crawfish that was good. From what I remember it was like someone here in the south fixing Frogmore Stew or shrimp and grits, everyone thinks theirs is the best using a little “variation”.

You can find it on Amazon. You can find anything on amazon!

Thanks, Beavertail for the options. Also, shoot me a PM when you hear the crawdads are prime, please.

I ordered a mix of Regular, smoked and chicken Boudin from The Best Market.

RBF, Well done:smiley:

I had some notes on these folks:
Live Crawfish sold at Elliott’s Crawfish farm in Rimini, SC.
803-452-5336.
Crawfish Boil every Saturday at noon. Plates are $8.00 each
(1 lb. of crawfish, corn, sausage and potatoes.)

Check with this guy for boudin on FB: https://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■.waiboer

Never had any boudin but plenty of scrapple & a few cracklins. According to a recent article I read this place in NC raises hogs from spanish descent & their fat has the same omega 3 as olive oil

https://canecreekfarm.us/meat/pork/

Now Fred can eat fried pork chops 3 nights a week.

 Your are too much! I got my first fried pork chop in a year from Colin Moore’s store in Yamasee about 5 weeks ago. I’d take a good fried pork chop over a steak.

Thanks for that link, I’d love to get into an operation like that. We ordered our pig for Christmas Yesterday from Winninghams. (sp?) $1.89lb. 130-150 lb range.

We have tried some of the regular and chicken Boudin so far. Great stuff, has some kick too[:0]!!

Glad you were happy with the boudin.

Have not found a potential crawfish supplier that I would be comfortable recommending to you but I will keep working on that.

Thanks, Beavertail!!
