I’ve got to replace the carpet on the bunks on my trailer. Also, not sure yet if the bunks need to be replaced. I need to know what grade or type lumber to use for the bunks.
I’ve always used treated lumber, go to Lowes and find a few pieces that are free of knots! Good luck.
I’m in the process of replacing the bunks on my 21 ft. boat’s trailer now.
I went to ACE in Hampton. They only had #2 treated pine, but were nice enough to let me dig for a few “#1 1/2’s” buried in the 2’s.
Got new brackets, carpet, monel staples, rollers, etc. at Beaufort Boat and Dock Supply in Port Royal.
I found an adaptor at ACE to run a 1/2" drive 3/4" deep wall socket on my battery powered drill. Sure saved a lot of “racheting”.
