Fished Saturday and ended up stuck in the mud again. Think I’m pushing it a bit.
Turned into a boring wait for the tide. 3 slot redfish.
Went out Sunday trying to redeem myself.
6 Trout and 122 redfish.
Small paddle tail on a jighead was the ticket.
Their biting, hope you can get out there!
Holey Moley, I’d take getting stuck in the mud for those kind of numbers!
Dang! We got skunked on Sunday but we didn’t give it our best effort either. Hit maybe 3 spots over the course of about an hour and decided to call it a day.
I’ve got to get this winter pattern dialed in.

Went through 4 different rods. Broke 2 hooks, had a few cut off on the oysters, stretched several hooks, wind knotted mid spool, and a few leader failures. It was a brutal day on the gear.
I have had some good 50-70 fish days in this area but never like this.
Right place at the right time.
Getting stuck is my own fault. I push it a little to far sometimes. I’ll use the trolling motor to drag the boat over humps in ditches. I hadnt been in that spot all year and a tree layed down blocking where I would usually turn around. The ditch was to skinny to turn around. For some reason it’s much more difficult to back over a clay berm than slide over one.
It didnt appear to make a difference. I went through several packs and colors.
Caught my first artificial redfish on a DOA Copper with chart tail. That has always been a good color for me.
SOLID! Never broke 100 in a day, but did it on back to back days…had plenty of 30-40 fish days too. 100+ in a day is a goal of mine…
I’m guessing it would likely take 6+ hours to catch that many…
