The bushing for the stopper shaft on my 40hp Yamaha 4 stroke is cracked. Does anyone know how the stopper shaft comes apart for removal so I can replace the bushing? It looks like a two piece assembly (stopper knob and shaft).

It is the tilt support shaft (Yamaha diagram called it a stopper shaft). The knob has a spring pin holding it in place, which I thought was a blind hole, but it punched right out.
