Jetty Fishing 8/22/20

First Post and late post
Launched from Shem Creek Marina at 5 am and headed out to Morris Island to catch Menhaden. The trawlers there spread out the bait so 1-2 per school. Finally found them clumped together and got 20 or so. Scooted on out to Dynamite Hole. When we got there there had to be 20 other boats. Tossed back on the drop off with a half of Menhaden. Got three bull reds and a bonnethead shark. Then disaster struck, our hydraulic steering fluid leaked out on our 90hp Yamaha 2 Stroke. We didn’t think much of it because we assumed we could manually turn the engine. But for some reason, we couldn’t.We eventually got towed back by the crew of the Rock and Reel (Thanks Yet again if you see this!). The boat is the shop now.

Well at least you didn’t break down and not catch some fish. Glad you made it back safe, hope the repairs aren’t too terrible. Those kind of days can be a real kick in the nuts:dizzy_face:
