Set out to try our luck at Charleston tarpon and it was well worth it. Tossed the cast net once and loaded both livewells with extras going back over the side. Headed north up the beaches without much activity. Caught a couple sharks and was getting ready to setup in a new spot when loud explosions were heard behind us. Turn around and see very large tarpon clearing the water landing on bait schools. Hooked up once with menhaden on bottom. Then threw a Shimano ORCA popper onto the bait school. Three chugs and a giant tarpon slams it, felt him for about 3 seconds and then snap…line breaks. Had to call it but what an amazing day watching these fish like it was shark week on seals. Even got a pic of a few on side scan
