I take it the mask thing didn’t help? I’ve finally had a close friend get it. He washes his hands faithfully, wears his mask everywhere but still contracted it. Sick as all get out for three days and sluggish the next week all good now. If he would not have been tested for Corona, he said he would have just figured the Flu. I shop I frequent had three Employees test positive after attending a party were one attendee tested positive but they showed no symptoms. they quarantined for 14 days and the company paid them.
Doc gave him a Z pac and put him on blood thinner. ?
I think after the Pelosi fiasco, this whole corona thing is not getting as much leverage as it was.

Never said anything about a hoax Bob. I know it’s a real thing, just like the flu, cancer, heart disease, alcoholism, Pnemonia, and so many more terrible things. I just feel this Corona stuff has been politicized in an attempt to further the lefts agenda of socialism and used to put us all in a state of fear.

I just returned to work Monday for the first time in three weeks. Still don’t have full energy today. First symptom was no taste or smell. None. Happened overnight. Shortness of breath, but only a couple of times did it scare me. Diarrhea from hell every day. Headache, eyes hurt. Rash on my face but no fever. Had to stop and rest to walk to mailbox.
To the average person, this is probably nothing. I know people who didn’t know they had it until tested positive. I have nearly every underlying condition usually mentioned. This virus is real, but don’t live in fear.
Sorry to hear about that 7… I agree to not live in fear, but to proceed with caution…
We took a calculated risk with sending our daughter to college for her freshman year and it was brought home…
Reality is 50-60% of Americans have underlying conditions/comorbidities…

Interesting Alfredo that the OP requested to keep it apolitical and thought that I couldn’t do it… I did stay away from politics, but you couldn’t control yourself and had to make the first political response…
I will try to make this as simple as possible. Masks do work when the mask is fit for its intended use, and it is properly worn/used… However, there are many variables such as: mask quality, people wearing them correctly, etc. Unfortunately, there aren’t mask standards that are required even when masks are required. A simple blue disposable mask works fine if used properly in most circumstances.

Mask will reduce someone from contracting any airborne virus, but the true value is for the protection of others, not the person wearing the mask.

Yes, masks work as I showed you in detail previously… Sad you would advocate not wearing one and that they don’t work… Guess what, seat belts don’t guarantee to save lives in every instance of a wreck either… In this particular case you are helping others greatly by wearing a proper one that fits well… Unfortunately, your hard head will prolly end up killing some people, or just give them long term health problems…

Curious if the Hydroxy, Z-Pac or even Zinc were given?? And if so, helpful?? My Doc has had success with several patients prescribing those.

No, none, of the above. Don’t take this the wrong way, and it isn’t meant as an insult, but I don’t believe anything is to be gained by discussing what they did because every patient is different… Reality is I am not going to direct my ER doctor to give a certain drug(s) because I heard it here.
What I provided was the best thing to help people not get it and if they do, it’ll be at a smaller exposure amount… There is evidence that exposure amounts/levels can impact the severity of the sickness. Kinda think of it like 1-2 beers vs 20… The body can handle and fight it off easier with less exposure. In some ways people wearing mask could allow them to have small exposures get a little sick and build immunity against it similar to how a vaccine works…
Gotcha, no-one here has given medical advice, but, I surely would have asked the question to the Doc about the success he/she may have had using those mentioned…

Not really practical in an ER and hospital environment… They start dosing when someone gets in the room immediately after test results…
If I am sitting down with a GP, different story… This is my wife, not me… I wasn’t able to speak to a doctor… These folks are very busy and they aren’t going to make a call to a husband and ask what they think… Wife told me what they were doing med wise and it seems to be the best solution for her condition… If it was something I felt was way out of line, I would have challenged them if possible…
Don’t know about your area, but GPs here don’t see/treat people here with Covid, they send you to the ER…
