Might be a good thing because if they can get someone confirmed before election day, many conservatives won't have as much of a reason to vote for Drumpf...

who ever Trump pics, I hope they have a squeaky clean record. The Left will look to tear them apart for farting in their kindergarten class.

I personally like Amy Barrett as a choice. The left will probably hate her because of her strong faith, but I see no other issues in her past. Anything anyone?

I still wonder why Ginsburg did not resign a couple years ago after such critical health issues, I know their appointment is for life, but sometimes you just have to pass on the legacy. I'll give the lady credit, she was one tough gal.

You’re correct, if she’d retired during Obama’s rein the republicans would have bent over for any nominee until the turtle found a backbone and no matter who gets the nod the Democrats and their mediocrats will kavanaugh them, you can count on it

Pres. Trump will confirm another Supreme Court judge real soon. It's highly unlikely that enough Republicans will not vote "yes". Kinda sucks that McConnell has flip flopped, but nothing can be done about it.

Haha, all the bitching and moaning from the Drumpf loyalist about Biden stating he would select a women for his VP pick, and Drumpf does the same for his SCOTUS pick...

Where is all the outrage?

How about waiting until the election is over like the Repukes stated was only fair with Merrick Garland which was 9 months before the election... Now they want to shove one through with 6 weeks left until the election... HYPOCRITES!

I am gonna laugh my ass off if Pelosi impeaches that dictator wannabe Drumpf again just to slow it down...

Even better would be when the Dems take over all three branches and pack the court to 13 which would be politically tenable and expected due to the lies and dirty dealings from the Repukes

On what legality could she impeach?

I think a woman would be a good choice, but to specifically state it has to be a black woman Is racial. And the only reason Biden stated this was to try and farm black votes. But you know this.

First, Biden never said a black women, and that's why all the other women were in play in his selection... Biden simply stated a "woman", not a black one...

There have been many developments since the last impeachment... Also, they didn't charge Drumpf with everything from the last time... They saved a few gems that can now be used with all the new public information presented... Also, have the fact Drumpf is on record for saying he intentionally down played covid... Drumpf blatantly lied to the American people, and admitted it on tape...

Do tell us what these gems are. Or are you gonna make us wait till Trump is reelected and the Dems go after Trump again instead of working for American citizens like they are suppose to do.

You on the down playing kick too? RBF, you claim to be intelligent, If so surely you can see why a leader would not want to cause a panic. Hell people thought they might get a little diarrhea and "bam!" no toilet paper due to panic. If Trump would have stated "Hey everyone we got a bug just in from China and it has the potential to Kill Millions". America would be over as we know it. Thank GOD for a leader that has some common sense. While I doubt you'll publicly admit to this truth, you know it is true. As to many Dems that will NEVER give Trump any credit for anything but what they think is bad.

You say you are a conservative, but you don't speak like one.

Geez Alfredo, there you go again trying to muddy the waters... I explicitly stated Biden's VP pick, not his SCOTUS one... No BS from RBF...

You really do have a reading comprehension and communication problem...

When you initially replied you never stated Biden's Scotus pick, and I had already stated this was related to his VP pick... Yep, context matters Alfredo...

Seriously, go back and read in sequence and you'll see for yourself...

As far as the other, sorry but great leaders level with people and don't make light of a serious situation for their own political gain... Drumpf could have calmed everyone in many different ways, and still told us the truth... That's not leadership, that's lies, and the American people know it!

BS Alfredo... Here is what I stated:

"Haha, all the bitching and moaning from the Drumpf loyalist about Biden stating he would select a women for his VP pick, and Drumpf does the same for his SCOTUS pick..."

Here is your statement right after mine:

"I think a woman would be a good choice, but to specifically state it has to be a black woman Is racial. And the only reason Biden stated this was to try and farm black votes. But you know this."

As you can see there was absolutely no "shift" by me to discussing Biden's Scotus pick, only his VP...

You should have stated YOU were shifting the discussion to Biden's Scotus pick, but you didn't, and hence my reply.

Sorry Alfredo, but you do have a serious communication problem... You conflate things and then don't communicate to the other person you "shifted" the discussion to another topic without alerting the person to your extraneous shift...

Cp In reality, there are only two rules, both set forth in the Constitution: A president, for as long as he or she is president, has the power to nominate a person to fill a Supreme Court seat; and that nominee can fill the seat only with the advice and consent of the Senate. That’s it. Everything else is posturing. Everything else is politics.

Just dirty dealing poltics from the Repukes and will prolly result in the Dems packing the court at some point... By the end of the century we will prolly have 100 justices...

The best part is by rushing to fill the vacancy before the election is the Repukes essentially admitting they will prolly lose the Senate and the Presidency... Then the Dems will kill the filibuster, and pack the court to 13 for the advantage... Nothing the Repukes can do about it either after their heavy handed partisan acts...

No I'm not talking about Biden's VP pick.

I think RBF is a fake person in stating he is a true conservative. No way would your hate of a person overcome the simple fact of all the good that person has done. Here is the list of CONSERVATIVE seats Trump has filled. Hopefully to include one more before this election. Are you at least going to admit Trumps pick for a conservative supporting our Constitution is better than a liberal looking to take it away? Put your hate aside and your country first. Then answer truthfully. Then we can all know if you are a conservative.

That's 418 filled with 71 more nominations. Let's see if the left is still screaming to defund the police over the next 4 years.

c/P from wiki is the source of the below..

As of September 22, 2020, the United States Senate has confirmed 216 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including two associate justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 53 judges for the United States courts of appeals, 159 judges for the United States district courts, and two judges for the United States Court of International Trade.[2] There are currently 36 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 35 for the district courts and one for the Court of International Trade.[3] There is currently 1 vacancy on the Supreme Court, 58 vacancies on the U.S. district courts and two vacancies on the U.S. Court of International Trade.[3] There are no further announced federal Article III judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Trump's first term.[4] Trump has not made any recess appointments to the federal courts.

Answer one question: Why did the Repukes hold up Garland?

There is no timeline for nominating the justice, so why the rush? The rush is simply the Repukes posturing, and engaging in heavy handed politics because the Repukes are expecting to lose the Senate and Presidency...

So Gayrider, where in the constitution is there a timeline for nominating a justice?

Also, your own c/p states the President has the power, but not the duty to nominate...
